MUSH organics was created by a stay-at-home-mom with a 13 month old and baby on the way . . . bored while daddy works and wanting to help other mom's out!
I've always loved food, cooking it for myself and others, eating out, finding new recipes and trying new things. I was so excited at the prospect of making homemade food for my son, I was adamant that I wanted him to have fresh, organic food and not to grow up thinking that meals came from a container bought at the supermarket. But when it came to it, I was terrified! What if I fed him something that was bad for him? What if he was a fussy eater? What if he hated food in general? After hours of research and many more hours in the kitchen I was ready, and luckily so was he! Much like his father, my son loves food. That's not say I got it right every time but the more he enjoys eating, the more I enjoy cooking.
The idea for Mush Gourmet came about when I was thinking just how terrifying and time consuming weaning could be. I want to help other parents who, like me, want the best food for their children and who also believe this should be homemade not only for nutrition reasons, but also in terms of food education. I want to help parents ensure their children are eating healthily and to take some of the strain off them. In today's pram comparing, changing bag coveting, competitive baby world, we could all do with a little relief!
Ultimately, I hope parents enjoy feeding their children as much as I do – even when I am wearing a fair share of my son's dinner!
